The Other - rev 2 (1989-1992)
After Steve LoBue left The Other we put out ads and auditioned a drummer named Jeff Baker. He seemed to fit right in with the new direction and we were soon off and running with new demo recordings. These were done on two Tascam 4-track cassette decks Mike and I owned. In due course we were finally ready to play live. Sherri knew somebody at Club Oasis in San Jose and got us a gig. It went over pretty well, and was exciting for me in that I had a song or two to sing lead. But soon Mike and his wife decided to relocate to Eureka to raise a family. This broke up the core of the band, so Sherri and I decided to call it quits. In actuality Sherri and I carried on writing new songs together and made plans for starting a new band, which eventually became Dogpark. But before we get into that story there is another band to talk about, which I had been doing off to the side during this time...Dreamhouse (see next blog).
